The following description of a friend came from an English magazine: "A true friend is one who has the courage to disagree with us when [we are] in the wrong, and advise us for our own good, rather than let his sympathy or sentimentality cause him to agree."

"Friendship is one of the sweetest joys of life. Many might have failed beneath the bitterness of their trial had they not found a friend." - Charles Spurgeon

"We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is that last drop which makes it run over, so in a series of kindnesses, there is at least one that makes the heart run over." - Samuel Johnston

Girlfriends are Sisters of the Heart

What would we do without our girlfriends? Who would we shop with? Who would we share our excitement with? Who could we confide in? Yes - our spouses/significant others and families are there to share in these moments, however, there is somethings special about the relationship you have with your Girlfriends. I've been fortunate to be blessed with these sisters of the heart.

I met my bestest friend, Trish (aka face!), in the 6th Grade. I was the new kid in school. She took me under her wing and has remained one of my dearest friends. Together we survived Jr. High, High School, weddings, babies, and over 35 years of wonderful memories. We still laugh about the plans we would make for our future. From the drawings of the apartment we were going to share, to the names we picked for our daughters (years before they were even born!) . We shared stories about first kisses, and broken hearts. Though many miles away in Hawaii, we now keep tabs on each other through the wonders of technology - also known as Myspace!

Nancy & Sherri - they go together like PB&J, and I'm the tall glass of milk. These girls are just too much fun! We've shared some awesome times. From that first car ride with Nancy (Sherri - remember that?) - to my bachelorette party. The memories and good times are too many to count (hey NNNNNancy). We've been there through thick and thin - from heartbreaks and crazy co-workers to weddings and babies, our friendship has spanned nearly 20 years! We even survived the trip to Vegas!! Remember girls? What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! My lips are sealed :) Looking forward to bringing in the New Year with these girls!

It was one fateful, blustery day in December that sealed my new friendship with Debbie (aka Debster).  We had opened up to each other, the way best friends do, and from that day on, Deb has been one of my closest friends.  We’ve shared some pretty amazing experiences together over these past 10 years, including the best ski trip I’d ever been on (even though we didn’t ski), the Rolling Stones concert – in a LUXURY BOX, and lest we forget a camping trip or two :) - but the most amazing experience had to have been part of the studio audience at a live taping of FRIENDS!  We had a blast.  The best part about my friendship with Deb is that it is a family friendship.  Our husbands have a great time together, and Tyler and Megan are best buds!  Little Dane has become Dave’s “adopted son”.  Whether it’s hanging out with the family, or going shopping, hanging with Deb is a guaranteed good time!

There's just one word to describe Jodi - FUN!! Well, there are other's I could use too - such as talented, funny, super smart, sweet, beautiful - ok - I guess there is more than one word to describe Jodi. Every time we get together, we have a blast. We've been fortunate enough to work in the same field that allows us to travel around the country (and beyond) - which allows us to meet people from around the world. From San Diego, to Toranto and Chicago - and next year, Berlin! Jodi is not only my friend, but has been my fashion advisor now for over 10 years! Whether it be live from the red carpet, or on stage with Magic Wanda, Jodi is sure to keep you entertained!

You know those girls who just radiate sweetness? Well, that's Panteha! I can always count on her to make me smile and feel happy. She's kindhearted, but not a pushover. She's smart, and dependable. We've shared many special moments - whether it be scrapbooking weekends with the girls at the beach or just dinner at a restaurant, I enjoy her bright smile and wit and her shoulder to cry on.

Do you remember that girlscout saying - "Cherish your friends, new and old, one is like silver, the other like gold" - that is how I feel about Christine & Trish. They have hearts of gold and they are a true treasure. They've helped me start over fresh after a really bad summer! They've taught me what real friendship and forgivness really means. We've shared many fun GNOs and I'm looking forward to more good times!!
