Life is Good!

Life is Good!

Last year, my husband and I went to Sonoma for the weekend. On a gorgeous sunny spring day, while we were enjoying lunch in Healdsburg, on the Oakville patio, we were approached by an elderly man who stopped at our table and confidently said to us "This is the life - enjoy it!" We smiled wide and agreed with him whole heartedly.

This was one of those weekends that you just sit back and say - life is good! Dave and I took the boys to Windsor for the night. Now, if there is one place I would love to live - it's Windsor. It such an adorable little town and still very rural. It reminds me of the town I grew up in. From our bedroom window, we could see fields of geese, sheep and a lot of cows. There's just something magical about watching the sun pour over green pastures.

After a simple breakfast of cinnamon toast (Greenlee's Bakery in San Jose, CA makes the best), we headed out on our little road trip through the town of Healdsburg, where we enjoyed lunch at our favorite little spot - Oakville Market. We then made that beautiful drive to Napa Valley. The boys just loved the beautiful hills and the amazing wineries. We did stop at one - Castille de Amoroso. It was Amazing! Tyler and I did the tour and I did a little wine tasting. The castle reminded me of some of the castles I'd been to in England. It was so cool!

From there, we continued on to Fairfield to visit my dearest friends, Nancy and Sherri. We spent the rest of the day at Sherri's and we just had such a good time! The guys hung out in the back yard, while minding the bbq, the kids all played well together throught the house, while us girls hung out in the kitchen - catching up on our recent goings on. I love those girls! We've been friends forever and when we get together it's like no time has passed. We all enjoyed dinner together and exchanged stories about our kids, camping trips, etc.

The weekend ended with me going on a 1 hour walk with my friend, Mary. She's another sweetheart. Later, I joined Mary again for a goal-setting gathering with our women's social group. Boy - when you get a room full of women together, there is no end to the conversations! What a great group of ladies. I'm looking forward to our next meeting! I left very inspired.
Oh - and did I mention the weather? GORGEOUS! The weekend was Spring-like. What a great weekend. I'm so greatful for having such an awesome family and such great friends!

My Creative Weekend

What a weekend! Which followed a very busy week! Friday night I met some friends for an evening of aromatherapy :) We made these very yummy bath salts and sugar scrubs! I had no idea how easy it was to make them. The ingredients were simple, and best of all, organic.

Then I was up early on Sat. morning so I could beginning preparing the ladies tea I was hosting at the Shabby Shack. I was expecting 7 ladies from my friendship, but by 1:00 I was joined by 8!! How we all fit in my tiny little studio wasa miracle, but we had such a nice time. The company and conversation were so enjoyable, the last guests didn't leave until after 5:30. It was such a wonderful day. Later that evening, I joined another group of very nice ladies for dinner at Chili's. Again it was a nice evening, but I was exhausted by the time I got home.

Sunday wasn't any different. My sister, Diane, and I went to a resin class in Palo Alto! Now that was fun. I've always been wanting to learn how to make resin charms for various projects I'd like to do! I'm definitely in a creative mood these days. Hoping to spend more time at the Shack just playing.
